The Urology Department is committed to providing the best care to our patients whom we wish to be safe at home where feasible. During these unprecedented times of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are committed to delivering care without compromise.
To support this, we are offering Teleconsultation/Telehealth.
Not every patient will be suitable for a telephone or video appointment. Your healthcare professional will make a decision based on clinical information about you, on whether you are suitable or not for telephone or video appointments, e.g. if you need to come to hospital to have tests or be physically assessed.
In general, we aim to perform Telephone consultations or Video consultations to all patients unless they specifically need to be seen and examined physically. Those patients who need to be seen physically by a Surgeon or Specialist Nurses will be specifically identified and informed.
Telephone Outpatient Appointments
The Surgeon or Specialist Nurses will simply call you on your telephone and perform the consultation. A scheduled time will be given and you will be informed about this. Calls may be made to patients outside of the scheduled time but we aim to make the calls before 5:00 PM on the day.
Video Outpatient Appointments
We offer video outpatient appointments to as many patients as possible so that we can continue caring for patients whilst maintaining social distancing within our hospitals.
