Rapid Access Services

The Urology Rapid Access Pathway is a service through which GPs can refer patients who have suspected urological cancers.

Once the GP refers a patient through this pathway, an individual will get a hospital appointment within 2 weeks and investigations completed within 6 weeks.

The Urology Rapid Access Pathway fast tracts patients with suspicion of cancers in kidneys, bladder, prostate, penis and testes.

There are specialised clinics when patients are referred for suspicion of prostate cancer (PSA Clinic) and when there is blood in urine (Haematuria Clinic).
